Description of Location:

This is Sam Houston State University property. They have a small classroom building with two permanent observatories. Concrete pads also available with power.

Instructions for Access:

• Contact Aaron Clevenson for access.

Directions:(and see maps below)

• 45 North towards Huntsville.
• Take exit 113, highway 19 to the right (two exits after The Statue).
• Follow this about 10 miles. You will see a Shell Gas Station on the right.
• Just a little over 2 miles later you will come to Knox Circle, turn Right.
• Then take the first left through a gate (there should be a small Observatory Sign). This gate is normally locked, contact Aaron before going!
• Follow this driveway to the observatory.

Pros:

• Very dark skies.
• Facilities, restroom, power, at least when SHSU personell are present

Cons:

• Distance from Humble.
• Normally locked gate.
• Trees block western sky.
